Presbyterian Membership and Baptism

Yesterday my family had the privilege of being publicly received into the membership of Skyview Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Highlands Ranch, CO. The children also received baptism, a game to which I could be accused of being a little bit late. (At your option you can read more on my extremely predictable conversion to paedobaptism. Also, for a limited time only, follow the riveting discussion of Presbyterian ecclesiology in the comments!)

Various grandmothers were in attendance. They had cameras and were not afraid to use them:

Both because I have not been blogging and because there are some things which one simply does not submit to Google for inclusion in the index, there is no linkable account of why this is such a big deal. But it is big. Big and good.

Becky: Thanks! Here’s hoping I stay a while.

Susan: Yes. It’s all true. :)

I followed the link to your church website…

Do you have to pass an IQ test to become a member? I don’t remember you mentioning that part but…. ;)

Tim - congrats! Wish I could have been there. I was sick and sleeping on the couch.
BTW - when will the Skyview webpage be updated?

    Nancy:

Bummer that you were sick! I assume you’re feeling better by now. I talked to Brian for a bit, but I didn’t put it together that you weren’t there. Kari and I had a bunch of family there, so I was a bit distracted making sure they all had a place to sit and were comfortable.

Sorry you missed my riveting testimony. Tongues of fire appeared on people’s heads, many wept, some spoke in other tongues, and some manifested the Stigmata. Or something like that.
