Hey, JC, good to hear from you! Yeah, I tightened up comments a bit to deal with comment spam, which had become a pretty big drain on my time. It was not cool.

Speaking of the ACT and school, have you started this semester yet? How is it going?

Tim!
it's getting really hard to comment on your blog. Security codes and everything. :o) Yo brotha, How's it goin? good to see your blogging again. I missed you for a while there. I always enjoy a good laugh when I take some time to look at what your mind has pasted onto the internet, just a suggestion, include a link to dictionary.com so I can easily reference some of the words you use. I have no doubts that it will help me with the ACT exam I am about to take soon, You could pray for me about that. It's a big thing I guess. *at least the college I am attending seems it is.* Anyway man, I agree with your viewpoint on the music situation, being a fan of all kinds of music, including my band.... www.purevolume.com/skafever.. check us out... And liking Hyms, Bach, Pipe organs and steel drum worship music. There are a few forums of entertainment which I feel we should strive to stay away from. ''worship music" to entertain, defeats the greater purpose. If it is a show, it's a show, call it a show, not worshipping as a group. Also lyrics even play an important role, if you have a song up on the screen proclaiming that you never cease to pray, and that you always seek God, and that he is your fortress and the only one to whom you turn, but you disobey him willingly everyday, I would call this more of singing a lie rather than just proclaiming it in a corner by yourself. Obviously new church members, or struggling Christians have the same right to worship God as anyone else, however, if the words aren't true, how can we blanket a church with a lie and call it worship music. Worshipping God, and proclaiming something that is true for half of the people in attendance is an entirely different thing altogether.

Music is a powerful force in the world, (as seen in many places, marilyn Manson, 50 cent) and the way people behave themselves, so calling people to holiness through it is an awesome thing, however stating that we are all holy is a bit over the top. We are not.
God is so awesome, and proclaiming that is such an awesome thing, nasaly hum it, it sore matters, the worship is the key. I think of people worshipping idols, and I see them on their faces before a wood carving of some sort, and I see Christians worshipping on their feet singing songs that someone else wrote, and that's the end. Sad. Hopefully we will see that worship is obviously more than singing, and the music accompanying it, I want to hear what you have to say though, your really good at inspring me to be thoughtful about certain topics, thanks brother,

“We should sing traditional church music, like Fanny Crosby and the Gaithers.”
